These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the GainLogger mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Services”) provided by GainLogger (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, installing, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
2. Account Registration
To use the Services, you must create an account using an email address or a supported social login provider (Google or Apple). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep your account information up to date.
3. Use of the Services
GainLogger is a fitness tracking application that allows you to log workouts, track exercises, create workout templates, monitor personal records, view your fitness progress, and receive automated progression recommendations. The Services include a mobile app, an Apple Watch companion app, and a website (collectively, the “Services”). The Services are provided for personal, non-commercial use only.
Apple Watch & HealthKit
The GainLogger Apple Watch companion app allows you to start and control workout sessions, log sets, and view rest timers directly from your wrist. With your permission, the Watch app reads heart rate and active energy data from Apple HealthKit to enrich your workout sessions with training intensity metrics. You may grant or revoke HealthKit permissions at any time in your device's Settings. The Watch app can operate independently when your iPhone is not nearby by caching templates and using a stored authentication token.
You may not use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Services.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
GainLogger offers a free tier with limited features and a paid subscription (“GainLogger Pro”) that unlocks additional functionality.
- Subscription options: GainLogger Pro is available as a monthly or annual auto-renewable subscription.
- Free trial: We may offer a free trial period for the annual subscription. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged the subscription price.
- Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account at confirmation of purchase.
- Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings (App Store or Google Play). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.
- Price changes: We may change subscription prices from time to time. Price changes will take effect at the start of the next billing period following the date of the price change. Your continued use of the Services after the price change constitutes your agreement to pay the updated amount.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of all content you create or upload through the Services, including workout data, exercise photos, workout templates, and health metrics collected from Apple HealthKit (“User Content”). By using the Services, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Services to you.
If you use social features such as template sharing, you acknowledge that shared templates and your display name may be visible to other users. Your email address is never exposed to other users.
6. Intellectual Property
The Services, including all software, designs, text, graphics, and other content (excluding User Content), are owned by GainLogger and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Services without our prior written consent.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Services
- Use the Services to transmit harmful, offensive, or illegal content
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services or other users' accounts
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access or interact with the Services
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services
- Share content through the Services that violates the rights of others
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the Account tab in the app. Upon deletion, all your data will be permanently removed from our systems.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine to be harmful to other users or the Services.
9. Disclaimers
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
GainLogger is not a medical or health advice service. The fitness data, analytics, heart rate readings, calorie estimates, progression recommendations, and other suggestions provided by the app (including data sourced from Apple HealthKit) are for informational purposes only and should not be considered medical advice. Heart rate and calorie data may not be fully accurate and should not be relied upon for medical decisions. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting any exercise program or making changes to your fitness routine.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GainLogger shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the Services.
In no event shall our aggregate liability exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which GainLogger operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
